Gopher Control

Small, furry, and sporting their signature big front teeth, gophers might look cute, but they create a startling amount of damage if not carefully controlled. They’ve evolved to be perfect diggers, capable of tearing up carefully constructed landscaping and gnawing through wires and roots with their strong teeth. When gophers invade a property, they feed on crops, plants, vines, trees, and nearly anything they can get their mouth on - as they dig, they can easily tear up grass in a yard, as well as power through water lines, wires, and irrigation systems

One of the most frustrating and persistent challenges homeowners face is dealing with gophers. These burrowing rodents can cause massive damage to your lawn and garden in a surprisingly short amount of time - nice lawns make the perfect habitat for gophers. They love healthy, loose soil, so the better your lawn looks to you, the better it appears to a gopher. Gophers love garden vegetables, bulbs, and other roots. Their primary way of foraging for food is to eat through plant and lawn roots as they build their tunnels

Quick Gopher Facts

  • They do not hibernate and remain active all year round
  • Groundhogs are excellent diggers; most burrows are 25 to 30 feet long and from 2-5 feet deep
  •  Gopher infestations can have 100 rodents or more per acre (In ideal conditions, gophers can have three litters a year with 2 to 6 pups per litter)

Gophers may be small, but the damage they cause is anything but minor. From ruined gardens to hazardous lawns, these pests can turn your dream yard into a nightmare.  We at Burrow Busters have specific expertise about gophers and can implement strategies that eliminate them from your property entirely. Whether you’re dealing with a single gopher or a larger infestation, we have the specialized equipment to immediately and humanely exterminate gophers
